Bath coach Jon Callard, who lost Gareth Cooper and Gavin Thomas for the build-up to Saturday's vital 18-9 win over fellow relegation strugglers Harlequins, was livid about the 'totally unacceptable' decision. The players were called late on Wednesday night, told to report to Vale of Glamorgan for training the next morning and made to stay for another session on Friday, hampering Callard's final preparations for a crucial match. Cooper, now ruled out of the Wales squad with an ankle knock, said: 'I just listened to what both sides had to say and they made the decision for me, which is fine by me.' Callard was less gracious, insisting: 'It's absolutely ridiculous and hopefully it will never happen again.' The French, already without several key players including suspended skipper Olivier Magne, lost Montferrand No.8 Elvis Vermeulen and Narbonne prop Jean-Baptiste Poux with injuries over the weekend - and teenager Frederic Michalak is doubtful with a shoulder injury.
