Good week, bad week

We round up who had a brilliant weekend of sport, and those who had one to forget.

GOOD WEEK

Tottenham
Aaron Lennon sent Tottenham into injury-time heaven on Sunday, scoring a 92nd-minute goal as Spurs beat Liverpool 2-1 at White Hart Lane.
Harry Redknapp's side are now six points from the top of the Premier League. "It was a great game," said Redknapp. "It's been a fantastic week for us."

Dimitar Berbatov
The Bulgarian scored an astonishing five goals for Manchester United as they demolished Blackburn Rovers 7-1 at Old Trafford.
Berbatov became only the fourth player in Premier League history to score that many goals in one game. Andy Cole netted the same amount in 1995 as the Red Devils thrashed Ipswich 9-0, and Alan Shearer's five strikes helped Newcastle see off Sheffield Wednesday 8-0 in 1999. Jermain Defoe delighted the Spurs crowd with five goals against Wigan last season as Tottenham triumphed 9-1.
So Berbatov's not only back with a bang, he's also broken into a prestigious group of goal-getters.

Carl Froch
Carl Froch regained the WBC super-middleweight title after beating Arthur Abraham in the super six series in Helsinki.
Froch had lost his belt to Mikkel Kessler in April, but on Saturday evening he received scores of 119-109, 120-108 and 120-108 from the judges to win back the title.
"Every second of every round I was concentrating," said Froch. "I executed a game plan that me and Rob MCracken [his trainer] had been working on for the past four months, so it was mentally draining."

Roger Federer
The Swiss player won the ATP World Tennis tour title at the O2 Arena in London on Sunday as he saw off Rafael Nadal 6-3 3-6 6-1 in the final. "I've really enjoyed playing here," said Federer. "It's been a wonderful atmosphere once again."

England cricket
England hit an unbelievable 517-1 on the final day of the first Ashes Test before declaring. Alistair Cook made an incredible 235 not out, the sixth best Ashes score by an Englishman, and the 25-year-old's knock surpassed Sir Don Bradman for the highest Test score made at the Gabba. Cook and his partner, Jonathan Trott, put on 329, the ninth highest England stand in history. Australia were then put into bat and reached 107-1 before the match finished in a draw.
Records broken everywhere as England travel to the Adelaide test with momentum.

BAD WEEK

England Rugby
England faulted on a frosty Saturday afternoon at Twickenham, losing 21-11 to South Africa at Twickenham.
Willem Alberts and Lwazi Mvovo each scored tries while Francois Steyn recorded three penalties as South Africa beat England 21-11. "Very disappointing day," observed the former World Cup winning coach, Sir Clive Woodward. "They [England] were really battered."
