Good week, bad week

We round up who had a fantastic weekend of sport, and those who had one to forget.

GOOD WEEK

Javier Hernandez
Chicharito's two goals helped Manchester United beat Stoke 2-1 on Sunday. The striker netted with an acrobatic header and, although Tuncay Sanli struck for Stoke, Hernandez tucked home with four minutes left to clinch the points for the Red Devils. No Wayne? No worries.

Wayne Rooney
The world, his wife and Ian Holloway may have been ashamed of Rooney's antics over the last week, but the 24-year-old will be more than content after signing a new five-year deal at Manchester United. He pocketed a massive pay rise which must have brought a wry smile to his face.

West Brom
The Baggies have enjoyed a brilliant season so far, and it was made even better on Saturday as the points they earned from their 2-1 win over Fulham elevated them into fourth spot in the league for the evening. "We haven't been looking at the table," insisted West Brom's manager Roberto di Matteo after the game.

Newcastle
The away stands at Upton Park trilled as The Toon beat West Ham 2-1. Kevin Nolan netted and Andy Carroll put his ignominious week, in which he was accused for assault before having his car torched, behind him by scoring Newcastle's second as they kept themselves in the top half of the table.

Beth Tweddle
The 25-year-old won gold at the World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam. She regained the uneven bars title that she won in 2006. "It means everything to me," said Tweddle. "I have worked so hard day-in, day-out in the gym for this, so I'm very proud."

BAD WEEK

Wolves
Wolves were defeated 2-0 by Chelsea on Saturday, and it's now 720 minutes since Mick McCarthy's men last won a league game. "We've just got to be more clinical in front of goal," reflected the Wolves manager.
