We round up who had a brilliant sporting weekend, and those who had one to forget.

GOOD WEEK

Dimitar Berbatov
The Bulgarian is back to his best. His heroic hat-trick against Liverpool took his goal tally to six for the season.

After scoring with his head for his first and third goals, his second was the finest goal of the game. On receiving a cross from Nani, the striker teed the ball up with his right thigh before striking a sublime overhead kick that flew in off the crossbar.

Clint Dempsey
The American loves a meeting with Blackburn – he's now scored four goals in his last four games against them. In reply to Christopher Samba's effort – and El-Hadji Diouf's constant battering of Mark Schwarzer in the box – Dempsey delivered an equalising header to ensure Fulham remain unbeaten in the league.

Warwickshire
The county came out on top in the Clydesdale Bank 40 final on Saturday. Chasing Somerset's 199, Warwickshire's captain Ian Bell hit a brilliant 107 as his side reached the score with just six balls and three wickets to spare. "In terms of one-day cricket," said a buzzing Bell, "I probably haven't played better than that."

Darren Bent
Sunderland's remarkable draw with Arsenal was largely down to Bent's right boot. Deep into injury time with Steve Bruce's side facing a one-goal deficit, Bent flashed home the delight of the home supporters.

BAD WEEK

Cricket
2010 will be noted as a nefarious year for cricket. Its integrity has been sullied by spot-fixing and is now faced with further probing into suspicious scoring patterns at the Oval in Friday's one-day international. "It's really sad for the game," said England coach Andy Flower. "I hope they get to the bottom of it."
