Peter Crouch
It was a weekend of atonement for the Tottenham striker. After being sent off during Real Madrid's demolition of his Spurs side, Crouch scored twice at White Hart Lane to help Tottenham see off Stoke 3-2, in turn enhancing his team's prospects of finishing in the top four. "This was my chance to say sorry to all the fans that had travelled there [to Spain]," Crouch said.

BAD WEEK

Fernando Torres
Despite being a productive Saturday for his side, Torres continued his barren run during Chelsea's 1-0 win over Wigan. And this stat makes incredibly sad reading for the Spaniard - he's now failed to score in 648 minutes for Chelsea.

Lewis Hamilton
It was a harrowing weekend for Hamilton. The Brit was hit with 20-second penalty for making more than one change of direction in the build-up to a collision with Fernando Alonso, so Hamilton's seventh-placed finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix was cut to eighth.

"From my side I'm not allowed to move more than once," reflected Hamilton. "Do I class it as dangerous? No, but that's the rule."

Rory McIlroy
Having led for three rounds in Augusta, McIlroy then capitulated on the back nine and carded a round of 80 to finish four under. "Well that wasn't the plan!" he tweeted afterwards. "Found it tough going today [Sunday], but you have to lose before you can win. This day will make me stronger in the end."

Wolves
The Wanderers are still attempting to navigate their way out of the drop-zone, and a 3-0 home loss to Everton didn't help their cause. Wolves manager Mick McCarthy, however, cut a figure of diplomocy following defeat.

"Life carries on around us," he said, "and we've still got a chance to get out of the bottom three. It will go to the very end. Maybe we'll just pop out then and surprise everybody."

London Wasps
The two-time European champions, who have been in abject form recently, fell to a 32-22 defeat to Harlequins in the Challenge Cup.

"The difference was losing three players before half-time [and] giving away two soft tries in five minutes," said Leon Holden, the stand-in Director of Wasps, whose side were eclipsed largely because of the kicking skills of Quins' Nick Evans, who posted 22 points with his boot.
