Glowing Fergie is happy to reveal his hand

Sir Alex Ferguson has broken one of his firmest rules by revealing part of his next starting line-up five days in advance.

The Manchester United manager was glowing after his team's 3-0 win over Scottish champions Rangers in the Champions League last night and announced that scorers Diego Forlan and Ruud van Nistelrooy will both face Liverpool in the Premiership on Sunday.

Forlan scored for the fourth game in a row with a tremendous volley while van Nistelrooy's double were his first goals from open play for six matches.

"Diego is feeling the benefit of having a run of matches," said Ferguson, whose side need only one point from their next Champions League game in Greece against Panathanaikos to qualify for the knockout stages. Van Nistelrooy's efforts were less spectacular but pleased Ferguson even more. He said: "All strikers are scavengers. Denis Law made a living at United for 10 years by scoring scrappy goals - I even scored a few myself!

"Ruud was a different player after his first went in. He was fantastic."
