Queens Park Rangers manager Paulo Sousa was critical of referee Tony Bates for failing to protect his players during their 0-0 draw with Burnley.
Sousa said: "I don't like to speak too much about the officials, because they have a very tough job, but he missed a lot.
"Emmanuel Ledesma was caught with an elbow and he failed to spot it. It was one against one and somehow he missed it.
"We need to protect the game and the players are a big part of the game. Without that protection, it is tough."
Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock accused his side of lacking the killer instinct in their 0-0 draw at Leicester.
With the transfer window now open, Warnock added that he is looking to off-load the club's high earners and wants the youngsters to replace them.
"We are just lacking that bit of quality and we hope we can get someone in on loan in January but it's more about players leaving than coming in.
"We have people within our squad who can do the job. Victor Moses is an example of somebody who can do it for us."
Millwall drew 2-2 with Crewe after a mistake from goalkeeper David Forde and a poorly defended free-kick earned the visitors a replay.
Lions boss Kenny Jackett said: "I was disappointed with their goals because we didn't defend them well enough.
"For their second, I wasn't happy with the way we set up to defend the free-kick. It looked like we left too much of a gap for Shelley to hit, and he smashed it in."
