Battle: West Ham fought hardest as QPR continued their winless run

Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Upton Park where a Nedum Onuoha own goal and a Diafra Sakho header saw West Ham run out comfortable 2-0 winners against QPR.

The Hammers went in front after just five minutes when Stewart Downing’s corner hit Rangers defender Nedum Onuoha’s knee and flew into the net for an own goal.

QPR were just getting back into the game after the half-time break when they suffered the sucker punch of a second goal in the 59th minute. James Tomkins did well to hook over a cross-shot from inside the box and Sakho gleefully nodded home from a few yards out.

The visitors never looked like getting back into the match from there as Sam Allardyce’s team eased to victory.
