Darren Ambrose's spectacular long-range strike for Crystal Palace against Manchester United last year is in the running to be named Goal of the Year.
It has been announced that the midfielder's goal, struck on November 30, is one of 10 goals up for the award of Mitre Goal of the Year at the Football League Awards 2012, which runs in conjunction with Soccer AM.
A Football League panel pulled together the 10 best goals of last year after submissions from clubs.
The contenders were shown on Soccer AM on January 28 and viewers' votes will now decide the five-strong shortlist to put to guests at the awards on Sunday March 11.
Fans can now vote for their favourite goal and there is also a prize draw to win two places at the awards and £200 towards travel and accommodation.
