Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb: 'Pochettino has given me a chance and it's going well. He trusts me'

Nabil Bentaleb has publicly praised Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino for having faith in him.

Bentaleb, who is currently on African Cup of Nations duty with Algeria, has spoken for the first time of how pleased he has been with the way his club manager has given him a chance in the first team at Spurs.

The 20-year-old has been effective enough this season in central midfield that he has been preferred to more established players such as Etienne Capoue and Paulinho.

"I work hard in training and he trusts me," Bentaleb told FourFourTwo. "He [Pochettino] gave me a chance. It's going very well. I'm hungry to learn and he's teaching me every day."

Bentaleb is also enjoying playing alongside Ryan Mason, a player whom the Algerian understands well from their time playing together for Spurs in the NextGen Series.

He said: "The partnership is going very well. We played a few games in the development squad together and I think that really helped us. We know each other well and we're both hungry for the wins.
