Played well, so presumably his departure at half-time was enforced. He was great in the build-up to the goal and twice had a go with fierce efforts from outside the box.
Pape Sarr 6
Got in some good positions but perhaps not fit enough to continue. Has been nursing a back injury since the March internationals.
James Maddison 7
Lively and influential, he created Porro’s goal with a dart down the left and cross which was flicked on by Bentancur. Fired a shot wide in the second half.
Timo Werner 8
Made another goal with an inviting cross which was a nightmare for Murillo. Final ball is mixed but more often than not good – he also made chances for Son and Johnson.
Brennan Johnson 7
Could not continue his hot streak of goals and assists against his former club but was lively and industrious, and involved in the build-up to van de Ven’s goal.
Heung-min Son 8
Set up van de Ven’s goal with a simple pass and played in Werner for the opener, too. Matz Sels twice made brilliant saves to deny him a goal, including turning the Korean’s shot onto the post.

Substitutes
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Bissouma 45’) 8
Drew an acrobatic save from Sels with his first action and added bite to the midfield in an impressive showing.
Rodrigo Bentancur (Sarr 45’) 8
Helped Spurs re-establish midfield control and set up Porro’s strike with a flicked-on header.
Giovani Lo Celso (Werner 76’) 7
Added tenacity and composure to the climax as Spurs saw out the game.
Dejan Kulusevski (Maddison 76’) 6
Energetic at No.10.
Dane Scarlett (Johnson 89’) 6
Presumably has earned a late showing with his performances in training.
