Slade's job is safe, says Hearn

Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn today insisted he will not sack boss Russell Slade despite the club's disastrous start to the season.

Slade is under pressure having seen his side take just two points from the first eight games to leave Orient at the foot of League One after last night's 3-1 home defeat by fellow strugglers Bournemouth.

Hearn said: "Managers are led by results but in our type of business we expect loyalty - and we expect to give loyalty. I didn't want Russell to go to Barnsley [this summer] and he stayed. I will therefore return the compliment. We have a good team, a great manager and if we all pull together then I'm confident we'll be okay."
