Rampaging Arjen Robben could head to Italy

Arjen Robben took Bayern Munich a step nearer the Champions League Final last night and then fuelled speculation he could be leaving for Juventus in the summer.

The former Chelsea winger tormented the Real Madrid defence in the first leg of the semi-final, helping the Germans win 2-1.

Robben has only one more season on his contract and has been linked with a move to Serie A.

He said: “The interest of a great club like Juventus is always pleasing. Juventus have had a great season, they are looking to rebuild and they have a team with a great future.

“I’m very happy at Bayern but I still haven’t signed a contract extension and you never know what will happen in football.”

Mario Gomez got on the end of Phillip Lahm’s low cross to fire in a 90th-minute winner from point‑blank range at the Allianz Arena.

It was the climax to a thrilling but torrid match which resulted in Howard Webb booking nine players. The English referee had to deal with penalty claims, high tackles, flare‑ups, baying Bayern fans, theatrics and continual protests over his decisions.

Jose Mourinho claimed Franck Ribery’s opening goal should have been disallowed for offside but the Real coach said: “I don’t criticise the referee, I accept his decisions. A draw would have been a fairer result. This is football, whoever scores wins and the game ends when it ends, nothing else. It’s not a terrible result.”
