QPR v Arsenal - player ratings

Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Arsenal's 2-1 win over QPR at Loftus Road.

Arsenal remain third four points off Manchester City in second place, while QPR are 18th and three points adrift of Aston Villa.

Olivier Giroud set the Gunners on their way when he scored on 64 minutes. Mesut Ozil passed to Alexis Sanchez who drove into the QPR box before laying off to Kieran Gibbs who cleverly fed Giroud who slid the ball beyond Rob Green.

Arsenal's lead was doubled just five minutes later. Again Sanchez was involved. Gibbs tapped it to the Chilean just inside the QPR penalty area. Sanchez took the initiative and cleverly turned the stationary figure of Darnell Furlong and bent his right-footed shot past Green.

QPR's fans were given hope with eight minutes to go when Charlie Austin scored his 15th goal of the season. After receiving a delicate pass from Matt Phillips, the striker shifted onto his right and curled the ball into the left corner of David Ospina's goal.

The final whistle was blown by referee Kevin Friend and sadly for QPR it meant they had failed to win more than once in their last ten games.
