There were only four Premier League matches taking place this weekend as the FA Cup quarter-finals rolled around.

The action began at Craven Cottage on Friday night, with Fulham missing the chance to escape the relegation zone as they lost 2-1.

Thankfully for Fulham, fellow relegation strugglers Newcastle were thrashed 3-0 at Brighton as the Seagulls bought themselves some breathing space after a string of poor results.

Sunday’s first game saw Arsenal fight back from three goals down against West Ham to seal a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at London Stadium.

Later on, Tottenham emerged from the gloom of the past week to claim a morale-boosting 2-0 victory at Aston Villa and climb to sixth place.
