Paulo Sousa's apology cuts no ice with Warnock

Angry Neil Warnock tore into Paulo Sousa after the Swansea manager tried to back-track over his claims that Crystal Palace should be relegated for going into administration.

In the run-up to last night's match between the sides, Sousa said he felt the 10-point penalty for hitting financial trouble was not harsh enough.

But after Swansea won 1-0 at Selhurst Park, Sousa said: "This is a historic club, I have a lot of respect for this club. I think we had a misunderstanding and people got me wrong as my English is not good.

"With all the respect I have for everyone, what they have been done after getting administration — it's a great job."

The apology meant little to Warnock. The Palace boss said: "It's already done. You write the story and then say sorry after when we've read about it — to me that's rubbish.

"Anybody can spout off when you're fifth in the league, I didn't hear him spouting off at QPR. So, there's a time and a place for manager to say something and that's not in the press.
