Paddy McCarthy plots end to poor run at Rangers

Paddy McCarthy believes Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Cardiff proves his side can take points off leaders Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Fulham loanee Kagisho Dikgacoi's first goal for the club stretched Palace's unbeaten home record to 10 games but it is their away form which has left Dougie Freedman's side only four points off the drop zone.

Palace have won only once away all season but captain McCarthy thinks his side now have the momentum to get something out of the game at Loftus Road.

"We can go into the game with confidence," he said. "We know we will have our work cut out at Loftus Road, QPR are deservedly top. I'm sure that we will give QPR the respect they deserve but we will go there looking for a result and I am confident we have enough to get one.

"Dougie knows exactly what needs to be done, not only this season but for the future, and I think you can see things are already changing round here."
