Neil Warnock will not accept excuses

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock denied his side's 3-0 defeat to Doncaster was a consequence of the players failing to get paid.

Palace's players learned last week they would have to wait up to 10 days for November's wages due to chairman Simon Jordan's "cash-flow problems".

But Warnock said: "You can't tell me that a low morale stops you from scoring. I thought the lads had worked hard all week, I had no complaints - there wasn't anything like a low morale at all. A goal would have lifted us. I thought five or six players in the first-half thought they just had to turn up and didn't work as hard as the others."

Doncaster winger John Oster was booed by Palace fans because of his part in the club being slapped with a transfer ban.

Oster is still waiting for some of his final month's wages along with appearance bonuses due before he was released in the summer.

He took his grievances to the PFA and the Football League, which led to the first of two transfer embargoes placed on Palace. He said: "I just want what's rightfully owed to me."
