Matt Lockwood wants to extend stay with Barnet

Matt Lockwood wants to secure a permanent deal with Barnet when his month-long loan expires.

Despite being plagued with injuries over the past three seasons, the left-back believes he can resurrect his career at Underhill.

"I honestly think, if I can stay free of injury, I can play for another four or five years," said the 33-year-old.

"People may say he's injury-prone' but I feel as good now as I have for years. I am under contract [at Colchester] until the end of the season and then I will be leaving for good.

"I just want to play and that's why I came to Barnet."
