Kick it Out 'frustrated' with FA over delay in Nicolas Anelka investigation

Anti-discrimination group Kick It Out are frustrated by the delay in dealing with Nicolas Anelka’s controversial quenelle gesture and are pressing for an “urgent decision”.

The West Brom striker made the salute — regarded by many in his native France as being anti-Semitic — after scoring on December 28.

The FA will not make a statement before January 20 and Kick It Out said: “We are very frustrated at the time taken to investigate this issue and, as usual, have taken criticism, particularly from community organisations, who feel deeply and rightly aggrieved by the gesture and want to know why the campaign has not made more of a public condemnatory statement.

“The campaign will make known its comments at the conclusion of the FA’s investigation.”
