Louis Saha and Ryan Nelsen's experience will be "really, really important" to Tottenham's run-in, assistant manager Kevin Bond said this morning.
"That experience, that know-how, of having been there before," Bond said of the arriving pair, "[they are] the right type of characters, in the dressing room, on the training ground, and will be really really important for us."
"They've come in to be part of our team and part of our squad," Bond continued, "and the type of people that they are I think they can make an important difference to us."
Saha, whom Bond reported as having "trained very well" yesterday, joined from Everton on deadline day. Nelsen, who is "really, really looking forward to the challenge" left Blackburn to sign on a free transfer this morning.
Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe are "extremely doubtful" for Spurs' game at Liverpool on Monday night with hamstring injuries, Bond said. He believes that player availability will be one of the decisive issues over the rest of the season.
"I think players being available or not being available can play a big part in the run-in. At the top of the table or the bottom of the table you need your best players. That may end up being an important part of who wins the title and who goes into the Champions League."
