Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from England’s 1-0 win against Norway at Wembley, on an underwhelming night in north London.
Daniel Sturridge missed a couple of first-half chances, but Roy Hodgson’s men struggled to break down a disciplined Norway defence in the opening 45 minutes.
The visitors then started the second half the stronger and Blackburn’s Joshua King was twice denied by Joe Hart.
But it was England who grabbed the only goal of the game when new skipper Wayne Rooney buried a penalty in the 68th minute after man of the match Raheem Sterling had been brought down in the area.
