Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Crystal Palace's 3-1 defeat at home to Sunderland.

Crystal Palace were downed 3-1 by a resurgent Sunderland at Selhurst Park on Monday evening, with Eagles boss Neil Warnock left wondering what might have been for his side.

For large parts of the game Palace looked a real threat down the flanks but, apart from Wes Brown's comical own goal, the hosts struggled to threated Costel Pantilimon in the Black Cats' net.

For their part, Sunderland needed this win after a dismal run of form, and on the whole Gus Poyet's side really dug deep to grind this one out - with some notably clinical finishing.
