Changes: Paul Hart is looking to make modifications to his QPR squad

Italian pair sent packing as Hart rings changes

Paul Hart has begun his rebuilding at Queens Park Rangers by sending home two misfiring Italians and targeting six Premier League players.

The new QPR boss has told Matteo Alberti and Alessandro Pellicori they are surplus to requirements. Alberti, 21, has scored just twice since joining from Chievo in 2008 while Pellicori, 28, has made only one start since his move from Avellino in the summer.

West Ham outcast and former Rangers midfielder Nigel Quashie is on Hart's wish list, along with Portsmouth stopper Jamie Ashdown and strikers Danny Webber, also of Pompey, Caleb Folan (Hull) and David Elm (Fulham). Stoke midfielder Amdy Faye is already in talks.

Meanwhile, QPR co-owner Flavio Briatore will find out today if his life ban from motor sport has been overturned by the French High Court.

Jordan may let Moses go

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has placed the future of Victor Moses in the hands of Simon Jordan.

The chairman is trying to sell the cash-strapped club and the £5million-rated striker is one of his most valuable assets.

Warnock confirmed a bid had been received for the England Under-19 player, who recently signed a new deal until 2011. He said: "We have just had one definite offer. I have left it to the chairman to deal with and it's up to him."

Manchester City are thought to be leading the chase for Moses, who has also been linked with Barcelona, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Taylor keeps club at heart

Graham Taylor has agreed to stay as chairman of Watford until June.

The former boss stepped into the breach at last month's AGM when Jimmy Russo quit and threatened to force the club into administration over a £4.8million debt.

Taylor said: "Many people are aware that Watford are very special to me so it was impossible to say no to becoming chairman. We have many challenges off the pitch but believe in moving forward and that the club will be in a much healthier position as the season progresses."

Cup inquiry begins at last

The Football Association will tomorrow finally open their inquiry into violence at the Carling Cup tie between Millwall and West Ham in August.

The three-day hearing will see both clubs defend their actions in the wake of the hooliganism in and around Upton Park. It has taken five months for evidence to be drawn up as the clubs face a total of seven charges.

Meanwhile, Liam Trotter, 21, has joined Millwall on a month's loan from Ipswich. The midfielder had a short loan at The Den in 2006.
