Brown tickled pink as Dons book place in final

AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown believes reaching the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off final is just the beginning for the club, writes Henry Swarbrick.

Last night's victory means AFC, who were formed just nine years ago, are now only one win from securing their fifth promotion in eight seasons and moving into the Football League for the first time.

Luton are their opponents at Manchester City's Eastlands on May 21 but Brown insists that even if his side miss out, it won't be long before they realise their dream.

"We are going to get promotion eventually," he said. "This club is all about the journey. We might get there this year or next but then, when we do, we'll think 'this is only League Two'.
Promotion would be phenomenal when you consider that Aldershot Town [formed in 1992 and now in League Two] turned it round in 15 years.

"This club have nearly done the same in 10 years. The difference between us and every other team is that we have 200 volunteers doing all the hard graft and that lets me have a bit of a budget."

Brown expects 10,000 fans to make the trip from
south-west London to Manchester and although he is keen to play the underdog card against a side who have taken four points off his side this season, last night's result has given him plenty of confidence.
