Devlin said: “We met with the Metropolitan Police to go through the Portsmouth situation and to go through what will happen at the end of Saturday’s game, allowing for all eventualities — a Brentford win, a Doncaster win and a draw.
“There is a lot riding on the match and there is something in it for both teams. So there is an added issue for us to consider this time but we have taken measures that we believe will allow the game to go off peacefully.
“We have got an experienced team here and we are very confident that everyone can come here safe in the knowledge that plans are in place.”
Invading the pitch is a criminal offence and it is hoped all fans will remain in their seats after the game.
If Brentford are promoted, their players will return to the dressing room before re-emerging to celebrate promotion. Doncaster will be presented with the League One trophy if they win and leaders Bournemouth fail to triumph at Tranmere.
However, Merseyside Police announced today they will not allow Bournemouth to receive the trophy at Prenton Park.
