Arsene Wenger: Thierry Henry's return is a short-term fix

Arsene Wenger knows he could be left with the agonising prospect of wanting more if Thierry Henry's loan spell is a huge success.

The Arsenal manager will have to hand Henry back to MLS side New York Red Bulls when the two-month deal is up and says there is no question of a David Beckham-like loan extension as enjoyed by AC Milan when the midfielder was an LA Galaxy player.

Wenger said today: "Milan might have negotiated that in advance but we've not done that.

"We have promised to send the player back. And so we have not spoken about that at all. If we have a problem then it means he has done well so I hope we will have the problem."

And after losing last season's Carling Cup Final to Birmingham, Wenger knows the importance of the FA Cup this year, with the Gunners lined up to face Aston Villa at home if they get past Championship side Leeds tonight at the Emirates.

"I can't say its not important, it's very important," he said. "But how important you cannot say. We are still in the Champions League as well don't forget and we will try to do well in the FA Cup."
