Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from the Emirates Stadium where a Danny Welbeck hat-trick helped Arsenal cruise to a 4-1 win against Galatasaray.
The Gunners went in front after 22 minutes when Welbeck latched onto Alexis Sanchez’s gorgeous through ball and toe-poked past Fernando Muslera.
The England striker then added his and Arsenal’s second eight minutes later with a well-placed strike into the far corner, and Alexis Sanchez grabbed the Gunners’ third after 41 minutes with an easy finish from the penalty spot.
The only question after the interval was whether Welbeck would get his hat-trick, and he duly delivered with 52 minutes gone as he lofted a beautiful chip over the advancing Muslera.
Arsenal’s perfect night was compromised soon after when Wojciech Szczesny was sent off for bringing down Burak Yılmaz in the area. The Turkish striker scored the penalty to reduce the arrears but Arsenal held firm for the remaining half-hour to record a comfortable win.
