Richard Rowe's gelding appears to have got his confidence back if last month's 16-length beating of I'm A Legend at Ascot is a guide.
Rowe said: "He was jumping out of Andrew Thornton's hands at Ascot. He's a really big, strong horse, so you would like to think he can handle big weights. He seems to like any ground and with a bit of luck on his side in a hugely competitive race, he should have every chance."
Belon Gale seemed to relish his first attempt at four miles and was foot perfect on heavy ground when taking the Northumberland National at Hexham in November.
He shouldered a hefty 11st 12lb in desperate conditions that day, so there is no reason to think that Howard Johnson's hopeful won't put up a similarly superb display in Newcastle's featured totesport.com Eider Chase (3.15pm).
