Finnan ready for return

Defender Steve Finnan is likely to return for Fulham's UEFA Cup first-round tie against Hajduk Split on Thursday.

The Republic of Ireland full-back missed Saturday's win at Sunderland because of a minor knee problem but should replace Morocco international Abdes Ouaddou in Croatia.

Fulham, though, will be without striker Louis Saha in Split because of a hamstring problem and winger Luis Boa Morte is doubtful again due to his knee injury.

But assistant manager Christian Damiano said: "This is a fantastic side because we have such a big spirit, a good dressingroom and a good attitude.

"The players have a year in the top division behind them now and are there is now more quality and confidence."
