Fantastic Light to shine for Dettori

Godolphin are hoping for better luck after Wareed's defeat by Asian Heights in yesterday's Predominate Stakes at Goodwood, when Fantastic Light makes his European debut this year in the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday.

Frankie Dettori will ride the five-year-old son of Rahy, who was last year's Emirates World Series Racing Champion in the event run over a mile and two and a half furlongs. Stable companion Give The Slip will also be in the field.

Simon Crisford, the Godolphin racing manager, said: "We were delighted with the way he ran in Dubai on his first start this year, just getting beaten on the line. What that race promised is that hopefully he will carry on where he left off last season as Emirates World Series Racing Champion.

"Going for that title again is very much on the menu for him this year. The Curragh is a good opportunity to start him off.

"It is a highly prestigious race and it would be great to see him win over a mile and a quarter again - following on from his Hong Kong triumph over that distance at the end of last season.

"Fantastic Light is really working well and they are hoping he can put his best foot forward. He travelled back from Dubai very well.
