It's worth noting that Nashaab ran his best race of the season under Fallon at Chester back in May, but he's a frustrating customer overall and consequently Welcome Stranger looks the each-way value to build on the promise of a career-best effort at Ascot last month.
James Eustace's reliable gelding came widest of all in that well-contested handicap but quickened up in impressive fashion to beat a useful field in emphatic fashion.
A 6lb rise for that success looks fair enough and, with conditions to suit again, Welcome Stranger and the capable Luke Fletcher look all set to put up another bold show.
Meanwhile, prospects for tomorrow's meeting at Salisbury remain in the balance despite an upturn in the weather yesterday.
The BBC are due to cover the card transferred from Ascot, but only if clerk of the course Jeremy Martin feels that conditions have dried out enough at an inspection this morning.
"Much of the course is improving, but a few areas are still giving cause for concern and it might go to the wire," he said.
Further rain is forecast for the Salisbury area tomorrow.
