Meanwhile, Best Mate's bid for a fourth Gold Cup at Cheltenham next month is under threat following the news that his stable mate Edredon Bleu was found to be suffering with a sore throat after being pulled up at Wincanton on Saturday.
Edredon Bleu's box is situated next to Best Mate's at the yard of Henrietta Knight's West Lockinge Farm. Several others of the string have recently suffered from similar throat problems.
Simon Claisse, the clerk of the course, said: "We've had a little bit of rain since the Pillar meeting at the end of January, and we'd be on good to soft at the moment with not a lot of rain forecast over the next fortnight."
The eight-year-old is one of eight possibles for trainer Philip Hobbs and has successfully combined both hurdling and chasing, winning the bonusprint.com Gold Cup at Cheltenham in December.
