FA sleaze secretary in sex claim

The secretary at the centre of the sleaze scandal that rocked the Football Association is set to cause fresh controversy after making allegations of sexual harassment against an unnamed top official at the organisation.

Faria Alam has sent a legal letter to her former employers demanding a year's salary of about £30,000 in compensation, claiming she was forced to quit her job.

According to her PR adviser Max Clifford, the nine-page document includes "devastating" detail of the way the FA tried to cover up her affairs with former chief executive Mark Palios and England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.

If the FA refuse to settle then she is threatening to go public with her claims and is preparing to take the governing body to an industrial tribunal.

"She wants all this out in open," said Clifford. "All she wanted was this to be settled and she is prepared to go public if she doesn't get what she wants."

By far the most damaging claim contained in Alam's new allegations are directed at a third, unnamed, employee of the FA, who, she claims, sexually harassed her.
