But the Old Trafford club will be keen to ensure their assistant manager does not compromise his main job with them ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson's last season in charge.
Finland's London-based stars, meanwhile, today warned Eriksson his defence must improve for Wednesday's match in Tirana.
Chelsea's Mikael Forssell, on loan at Crystal Palace until the end of the season, said: "England will have to improve if they want to finish top of the group. They will find it a bit tough against Albania.
"They have some big lads who could cause problems and England will have to work on their defending at free-kicks and corners.
"Albania are hardworking, with some technical players as well, but I believe England will get the result they want."
Finland narrowly beat Albania 2-1 in Helsinki last September but Charlton's Finnish striker Jonatan Johansson said today: "It was a tight game and they played much better than we anticipated."
Eriksson will have been concerned with the way his defence struggled at set-pieces on Saturday, especially in the first half when the Finns scored from a corner with a free header by Aki Riihilahti which took a deflection off Gary Neville.
Manchester United's Nicky Butt looks certain to replace Liverpool's Steven Gerrard for the Albania game.
Gerrard has suffered a recurrence of his back problem.
