Meanwhile, Vijay Singh is counting on a return to the Houston Open tournament to help him regain the world No1 spot from Tiger Woods.
"I'm waiting for another kick start," Singh said before today's opening round. "Maybe this is a place to get me going again."
A year ago, Singh won the Houston event for the second time in three years, followed a week later by victory in New Orleans. He went on to claim nine titles in the season, shattering the US Tour record with prize money of nearly £8.5million.
The Fijian began this year by winning the Sony Open but that was his last success.
He said: "I feel like I'm in a better position right now than I was last year."
