Dwight is set to be given a trial by Spurs

Tottenham are considering giving a trial to Guatemala striker Dwight Pezzarossi.

The 24-year-old, who is partly owned by Pro Players Management, is on loan at Guatemalan-based club Communicaciones and is keen on a return to Europe.

Pezzarossi has an Italian passport and would not require a work permit but Spurs face competition from Premiership rivals Bolton and Queens Park Rangers.

The player's agent, Christian Otero, said: "We are awaiting confirmation from Tottenham. He is set to go there on Thursday, although he might go to Bolton today or tomorrow.

"He's not been to Queens Park Rangers yet as he wants to try a Premiership club first. He's very interested, along with a lot of South American players, for a chance in England. If he passes a trial then we will discuss the terms with the club."

Spurs are almost certain to rebuff any attempt by Fulham to land striker Robbie Keane.

Fulham were today alleged to be considering a £7million bid for the Irish striker but Spurs will not be interested.

Meanwhile, forgotten midfielder Milenko Acimovic has confirmed he is seeking a move from White Hart Lane. Acimovic has been given the cold shoulder by caretaker boss David Pleat and is in talks with interested clubs.

Acimovic said: "At this moment I'm in the phase of negotiating with interested clubs but I don't want to talk about names."
