The poor conditions could result in Kempton's all-weather card being the sole survivor of afternoon racing in Britain tomorrow with both Thirsk and Stratford in danger of falling to the elements.
Christopher Tetley, clerk of the course at Thirsk, said: "It's bad enough as it is and we really don't want any more rain."
Stephen Lambert, his counterpart at Stratford, said: "If we were to take 25-30mm more we would be in trouble."
