He said: "His two wins this season have been very comfortable without going to the bottom of the tank either time."
Bet365 have Viva Pataca as 9-4 joint-favourite with Eagle Mountain for the 10 furlong contest but the latter's odds could shorten further after a spectacular gallop at Sha Tin today.
De Kock was left in confident mood after a workout over 1200 metres. He said: "He has travelled nicely to Hong Kong and that was a good blowout there. I don't think we have seen the best of Eagle Mountain yet. He is peaking now and I am confident of a good run on Sunday."
De Kock's Archipenko took the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin in April with Viva Pataca two lengths back in third and the trainer believes Eagle Mountain has the ability to beat the local horse again.
He added: "I think this trip will suit him. He had the speed to set a track record for the mile at Newmarket on his first run back and then was close to a breakneck gallop in the Breeders' Cup Turf and was only found wanting in the last 150m or so.
"I think he has the ability to be equally as good as Archipenko and maybe even be better."
