Van der Sar's absence allowed Mark Crossley to make his debut last week but the former Middlesbrough goalkeeper is set to make way for the 33-year-old at Charlton tomorrow.
Alain Goma will miss the game having been ruled out for two weeks after undergoing an exploratory operation on an injured knee.
Centre-back Zat Knight says the players are determined to make up for the defeat to Liverpool.
Knight was distraught after conceding the late penalty which cost Fulham a point, but is grateful for the backing he has since received. He said: "The boys and the management have given me a lot of support."
