"He is eager to sign an extension on his contract with us to prove his loyalty to the club and to the fans.
"The chairman has supported me in my decision to keep Sean at Fulham proving even further his intention to build for the future.
"I am now looking forward to seeing a continuation of the hard work and dedication from the player which, knowing Sean, I am sure I will get."
Meanwhile, Edwin Van der Sar is expected to return to the Fulham goal tomorrow. He has resumed training after missing last week's 2-1 defeat to Liverpool due to a leg strain.
Van der Sar's absence allowed Mark Crossley to make his debut last week but the former Middlesbrough goalkeeper is set to make way for the 33-year-old at Charlton tomorrow.
Alain Goma will miss the game having been ruled out for two weeks after undergoing an exploratory operation on an injured knee.
Centre-back Zat Knight says the players are determined to make up for the defeat to Liverpool.
Knight was distraught after conceding the late penalty which cost Fulham a point, but is grateful for the backing he has since received. He said: "The boys and the management have given me a lot of support."
