SportDavis: I'm quitting FulhamAdrian Curtis|Evening Standard13 April 2012Fulham midfielder Sean Davis rocked his club today by handing in a written transfer request. The England Under-21 star's decision to quit will open the door for bids from Everton and Middlesbrough. Both clubs have been monitoring Davis's situation and although the player is currently out of action with a medial ligament injury, he is expected to be back playing by the end of the month.Speaking exclusively to Standard Sport, Davis said: "It is not a decision I have taken lightly and I hope the fans understand but I have handed in a transfer request this morning."I've been at Fulham seven years and I think it is time I moved on."I am a very ambitious player and I don't think Fulham have the necessary ambition anymore since they sold Steve Finnan. I have made the decision with no disrespect to manager Chris Coleman. Hopefully he will do well but I have to put myself first."Alongside Everton and Middlesbrough, Spurs are also admirers of the £3million-rated 23-year-old.Meanwhile, in a statement today, Fulham said they were considering how to respond to the news.It read: "The club is disappointed and Chris is saddened as he believes Sean had a huge future at the club. His career prospects would have been considerably enhanced playing for Fulham in a pivotal role."The club is now considering its options in light of this news."MORE ABOUTMiddlesbroughNorth East England
