It was a much better day for Fran Halsall after she set the fastest time in the 100m freestyle this year when winning at the National Championships in Sheffield this morning.
The 21-year-old was in a class of her own, finishing two body lengths ahead in 53.61sec despite gliding in at the final touch.
It sent her to the top of the world rankings, 0.09sec ahead of Dutchwoman Femke Heerskerk.
Halsall has already qualified for the World Championships and will not swim in tonight's final with Amy Smith leading the battle for the second spot.
