Close care has been taken in regards to matching heritage with modernity throughout the plans to help the ground retains its' unique atmosphere and character while also ensuring that it is not eclipsed by other venues around the country.
Derek Brewer, CEO of Marylebone Cricket club told London Live: "We're working in a very competitive marketplace.
"There are 11 venues in England and Wales that are accredited to stage major matches - nine of which can stages Test matches.
"It's really important that we stay ahead of the game.
"We have the aspiration to be the very finest cricket ground in the world so it's really, really important in that competitive context that we continue to redevelop Lord's."
