Carrick is another player who has been linked with a move away from the club but he said: "It's a bit out of the players' hands at the moment with the financial situation but I'm more than happy to stay. I'm confident we can go straight back up."
Carrick's main goal at the moment is to regain full fitness and he hopes to play some part in West Ham's opening First Division match against Preston. "It's been frustrating for me with injuries. I've had to sit out the pre-season games and just try and get as fit as I can."
West Ham fielded a strong team, including David James, Cole and Defoe last night but struggled against a wellorganised Wycombe side, managed by Lawrie Sanchez. Kanoute scored their goal 10 minutes before half-time.
