Coleman questions players' commitment

Chris Coleman admitted he is facing the biggest test of his fledgling managerial career after the 2-0 defeat at home to Blackburn brought murmurs of discontent among Fulham supporters.

Fulham, who have now lost three successive Premiership matches for the third time this season, were thoroughly outplayed, prompting Coleman to question his players' commitment and desire.

"I'm looking at a couple of players and I don't know whether their heart is in it for the right reasons," said the Fulham manager. "They are certainly not giving me enough, the team enough or the club enough.

"We were booed off and rightly so. I think the first 45 minutes was the worst I can remember in my time in charge.

"When you are in the position that we are, it's not necessary ability that gets you out of it, you have got to show a bit of character, and we were lacking that in abundance."

Blackburn took a ninth-minute lead through Paul Gallagher and sealed victory with a. Paul Dickov penalty 13 minutes from time after Zat Knight handled. The central defender, who was booked in the first half, was subsequently dismissed.
