Coleman: Hands off Boa Morte

Chris Coleman today warned that any club hoping to prise Luis Boa Morte from Fulham in the summer will have to pay "serious money".

The Portuguese winger, who has been in exceptional form since he masterminded Fulham's recent crucial victory over Portsmouth, was watched by Newcastle manager Graeme Souness on Tuesday night.

Souness failed to sign Boa Morte in January for a fee in the region of £6million when the former Arsenal forward agreed a new three-year contract at Craven Cottage.

However, with Laurent Robert seemingly heading out of Newcastle, Souness is looking for a left-sided attacking player. Coleman, though, is keen to hold on to Boa Morte. "We don't want to lose him, he's quality," said the Fulham manager.

"The last four games are the best I've seen him play in a long time. He's been outstanding. Of course, teams will be looking at him but if anyone is serious about buying him they will need to come up with serious money."

Fulham make their shortest away journey of the season tomorrow when they visit champions elect Chelsea.
