Chelsea dismiss Stratford link

Chelsea today denied reports that the club were involved in talks about relocating to the proposed Olympic Stadium in Stratford.

The reports claim that discussions had taken place about leaving Stamford Bridge for Stratford.

A Chelsea statement said: "The club completely denies media speculation linking us to a move to east London. Chelsea admires the London 2012 bid and wishes them the best of luck in their attempts to bring the Olympics to London, which would be wonderful for the city.

"But there have been no talks either with the London bid or internally at Chelsea about this matter. At a recent fans' forum, Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon made the club's position regarding stadium expansion and the possible question of relocation very clear."

Meanwhile Jose Mourinho insists he is not worried about his goalscoring options even though he is down to two strikers for tonight's match with CSKA Moscow.

Adrian Mutu's failed cocaine test and Didier Drogba's injury means Mourinho will have to rely on the combined talents of Eidur Gudjohnsen and former PSV hitman Mateja Kezman against their Russian opponents.

They played together for the first time in the defeat against Manchester City on Saturday.

Gudjohnsen has not scored since his winning goal against Manchester United on the opening day of the season while Kezman has yet to open his account for the Blues. But even though Mourinho accepts that, as a team, they are not scoring enough goals, he is not unduly worried about facing CSKA with just two fit strikers.

Chelsea will have to puncture a defence that has so far kept two clean sheets in the competition.

Mourinho said: "It is a special situation for us. I had four strikers at the beginning of the season - Drogba, Gudjohnsen, Kezman and Mutu - the number was correct.
