Only 15 horses have carried 11st 13lb or more to victory in 163 runnings of the Grand National. The first four winners, from Lottery in 1839 to Gaylad in 1842, all carried 12st. Another quartet - Cloister in 1893, Manifesto in 1899, Jerry M in 1912 and Poethlyn in 1919 - actually triumphed under a massive 12st 7lb.
