Brown: Spurs new boys will be a hit

Michael Brown today backed Tottenham's two new recruits from Nottingham Forest to excel in the Premiership.

Winger Andy Reid and defender Michael Dawson - signed in a joint-£8million deal last month - are moving up a level from the Championship, a transition which Brown himself made when he moved from Sheffield United a year ago.

The ex-Forest pair will be joined at White Hart Lane by Derby's Tom Huddlestone next summer and Brown reckons all three will have have no difficulty adapting to the increase in quality and exposure which comes with top-flight football.

The Spurs midfielder said: "I've played against Reid, Dawson and Huddlestone quite a few times over the last couple of years and they're all good players and great assets to bring to the club.

"I made the step up from the Football League last season and they can definitely do it, it won't be a problem. It's just a case of settling in and getting used to the different lifestyle of living in London, but they'll be made very welcome by the lads.

"Andy is a very special talent with a great left-foot, but the other two are also high-quality players. I would say they are equally good in their respective positions and it's great for the future of Tottenham." Brown's verdict is echoed by Forest academy director Nick Marshall, who was involved in the development of Reid and Dawson, as well as other Premiership stars such as Newcastle's Jermaine Jenas and Southampton's David Prutton.
