Bosnich left out in the cold

Mark Bosnich said today that his priority was to keep his place in the Chelsea team after being left out of the Australian national side for their next three games.

Although Socceroos coach Frank Farina said the door was still open for Bosnich should Australia reach next year's World Cup finals, he has chosen Middlesbrough's Mark Schwarzer for next month's friendly against France in Melbourne.

Bosnich has also been left out of the squad for the two-legged play-off against the fifth-placed South American team which will determine whether Australia compete in Japan and Korea next summer.

Despite that disappointment Bosnich said: "My bread and butter is here in England with my club football.

"I have been here 13 years and I want to stay here when I finish playing. It's a huge honour playing for your country and to play in the World Cup but Chelsea are everything for me now."

Bosnich was only given his Chelsea debut last Thursday in the controversial UEFA Cup match against Hapoel Tel Aviv because of injuries to Ed De Goey and Carlo Cudicini.
